Hurt Boxes are the brainchild creations of Emmy Nominated SFX artist, Brian Kinney. His amazing work can be seen often in blockbuster movies, such as “The Hunger Games – Mocking Jay”, and popular TV shows such as NCIS, Rizzoli & Isles, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Sons of Anarchy, and many more.
Brian specially designed this Skin Illustrator alcohol activated ink palette with the 5 best colors that can be used alone, mixed, or blended over each other to enhance and bring alive a variety of traumas made from the Hurt Boxes, or other types of injury simulation prosthetics. The colors in this palette include: Prime Yellow, Rice Paper, Natural 1, Red Rum, and Capillary. You can also mix them with any other palettes from the Skin Illustrator line to create your own unique blend of colors. Best of all he includes a mini palette size version of his famous Stipple Stix sponge tip applicators as a bonus with purchase!
To use, simply spray over a color with Skin Illustrator Activator or Slow Activator, MM-1205, REEL Developer, MM-1182 , or 99% Alcohol to activate the pigment from dry to liquid, or rehydrate them during use. The colors in this palette are waterproof once applied, and very rarely require any touch up. They can be applied with a brush, mascara wand, or stipple sponge to achieve the depth of color and effects you desire. It dries very quickly, however it's completely moveable on skin with a spray of 99% alcohol.
Once dry apply powder over it to achieve an "under the skin" look. For wet or shiny skin effects, use only glycerin or water. DO NOT use any oil or oil based products. To remove gently from skin, you can use Telesis Makeup Remover, MM-1255, or Graftobian Makeup Remover, MM-1053.
NOTE: Do not use 70% alcohol, MEK, acetone, water, or any other kind of solvent to activate the ink colors, they will not work and can potentially compromise the cake formula of the inks.
