MelPAX Paints can be thinned or diluted down with MelPAX Thinner to create a liquid medium that gives more transparent results when applying it by hand. Using this Thinner product instead of plain water will keep the adhesion and performance properties of your PAX paint fully intact. You can customize the dilution for your particular needs, but we recommend that you use a dilution ratio of up to 1 part PAX to 1/4 - 1/3 part Thinner to begin with until you acheive desired translucency. Always do a test of thinned PAX first, to check for desired translucency before applying it to your work in progress.
For best results in a smoothly thinned medium: pour some PAX Paint on a paper mixing palette, such as Royal and Langnickel Palette Paper, PPS-0410. Put a few drops of MelPAX Thinner on your PAX color and mix it in. Check consistency for thinness, and if needed add a few drops more until you reach the desired consistency.
